In view of the second wave of COVID19, chief executive officer (CEO) of Niti Aayog, Amitabh Kant had a visit to Nagaland and called on chief minister Neiphiu Rio, Governor RN Ravi and other officials.

During his meeting with Nagaland Governor RN Ravi on Tuesday, Kant discussed the potential possibilities for the state across key sectors.

He also discussed Nagaland’s preparedness for the second wave of Covid19 and the progress made under the Aspirational Districts programme, Kant informed.

“Had an extremely fruitful meeting with the Governor of #Nagaland, Shri RN Ravi in Kohima to discuss potential possibilities for the State across key sectors, State’s preparedness for 2nd wave of Covid 19 and the progress made under the #AspirationalDistricts programme,” Kant wrote on his Twitter handle on Tuesday.

Kant while sharing pictures of his meeting with Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio said the meeting was positive and constructive.

Their discussion also covered immense potential in key areas like tourism, infrastructure, agriculture and allied sectors.

The Niti Aayog CEO said they are looking forward for partnering Nagaland government.

“Had a positive & constructive meeting with CM of #Nagaland, Shri  @Neiphiu_Rio to discuss development and progress in the state across key sectors. Immense potential in key areas like tourism, infrastructure, agriculture and allied sectors. Look forward to partnering Nagaland govt,” Kant tweeted.

During his meeting with chief minister Rio, Kant was accompanied by Soumitra Mandal, director of the Aspirational Districts Programme, NITI Aayog.

“Shri Amitabh Kant @amitabhk87, CEO @NITIAayog along with Shri Soumitra Mandal, Director, Aspirational Districts Programme, NITI Aayog, called on me. I wish them a safe journey to Aspirational District, Kiphire and a  pleasant experience and stay in #Nagaland,” Rio tweeted.

Ravi on Tuesday tweeted: “Shri Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog, called on the Hon’ble Governor, RN Ravi at Raj Bhavan Kohima today. He discussed the pressing development issues of the State in general & Kiphire, the only Aspirational District in the State in particular. The CEO will visit Kiphire tomorrow.”
