Two more positive patients have died of COVID19 infection in Assam in the last 48 hours, taking the total death toll to 1,109.
According to the COVID19 media bulletin, released by the National Health Mission, Assam, on Sunday, a total of 7,075 COVID19 tests were conducted on April 4, 2021.
The news comes at a time when Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma claimed that the people of the state are not required to wear masks as a protective measure against Covid19 because the deadly viral disease is “no more” in the state. Sarma made the irresponsible comment in an interview with The Lallantop.
Out of the total tests, 69 COVID19 positive cases were detected on April 4, 2021.
Assam’s COVID19 positive rate stands at 0.98% while the recovery rate is 98.59%.
The COVID19 death rate of Assam stands at 0.51%.
On April 4, 2021, a total of 48 patients recovered from the disease and they were discharged from various hospitals across Assam.
In Assam, so far 72,79,073 COVID19 tests have been conducted.
Assam has registered a total of 2,18,670 COVID19 positive cases so far while the number of discharged patients stands at 2,15,597.
The number of COVID19 patients, who died of others reasons, is 1,347, according to the bulletin.
Meanwhile, the total number of beneficiaries of the age group of 45-59 years with comorbidity, who have received first dose of Covid19 vaccine on April 4 in Assam was 1,310 .
The total number of 60+ years beneficiaries, who received first dose of Covid19 vaccine on April 4, 2021 in Assam was 896.
The total number of healthcare workers and frontline workers, who have received dose of Covid19 vaccine on April 4 in Assam was 94.
The cumulative total number of beneficiaries, who received first dose of Covid19 vaccine in Assam till date up to 9:30 PM on April 4, 2021 was 10,46,386.
