AIZAWL: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unit in Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) in Mizoram has expressed disappointment over the sudden termination of eight medical staff members, including the sole medical officer, nurses, and a lab technician, at the Borapansury Primary Health Centre (PHC).
The Borapansury PHC, operating since 2013 under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model between the Mizoram government and the CADC, is the only health facility serving the entire Thega valley.
In a statement, the CADC BJP stated that this sudden termination will severely disrupt healthcare services in the region, causing significant hardship to the local population relying on the centre for essential medical needs.
“This action is detrimental to the well-being of the people and undermines ongoing efforts to provide accessible and effective healthcare in the area,” stated Durjya Dhan Chakma, CADC BJP president.

“Issuing warning letters to staff if irregularities are found is a more appropriate approach. Direct termination without due process is harmful to the administration and not in the community’s best interest,” the party stated.
The CADC BJP has demanded the immediate revocation of the termination order and the reinstatement of the eight medical staff members at Borapansury PHC in Mizoram.
They stressed that ensuring continuous and efficient healthcare services must be a top priority, and any action compromising this goal is unacceptable.
“The BJP, CADC stands firmly committed to the welfare of the people and will persist in advocating for their rights and needs,” a statement stated.
“We urge the authorities to take prompt and necessary actions to resolve this issue and restore normalcy in healthcare services at Borapansury Primary Health Centre.”
