The swearing-in ceremony will be attended by chief minister Zoramthanga, ministers, legislators, representatives of all political parties and leaders of civil society organizations.

Pillai is expected to arrive in Aizawl on Monday.

P S Sreedhar Pillai was appointed by the Centre on October 25 last as the new Mizoram Governor.

Notably Assam Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi was officiating as the Governor of Mizoram.

Pillai is the third man from Kerala to become Mizoram Governor after Kummanam Rajashekaran and Vakkom Purushothaman.

Notably, political parties and student bodies alleged that the Centre was using Mizoram as a dumping ground for Governors.

Congress has viewed the appointment of Pillai as the BJP’s attempt to penetrate into the Christian dominated state to make a base.

On the other hand, People’s Representation for Identity and Status of Mizoram (Prism) and Mizoram’s influential students’ body, Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) have asked the Centre to provide a full-fledged governor, who can be stable and use his full term.

Meanwhile, a three-day Assembly session has been summoned commencing from November 19, assembly secretariat officials informed on Sunday.

In this regard a detailed programme has been chalked out by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) chaired by Speaker Lalrinliana Sailo.

Question and answer hour will also be held on November 20 and 21.

Officials said that at least 149 starred questions, six unstarred questions and one paper has been submitted for laying in the house till Friday.
