AIZAWL: Four persons, including two women, were arrested for possessing heroin altogether worth 64.4 lakh in three separate operations by Assam Rifles and Mizoram police, Assam Rifles said in a statement.
The statement said that the combined team of Assam Rifles and state police seized 26 grams of heroin worth Rs. 18.2 lakh and arrested a local resident during a special area domination patrol at Zokhawthar village on the Mizoram–Myanmar border on Wednesday.

The joint team of Assam Rifles and Mizoram police also seized 12 grams of heroin worth Rs. 8.4 lakh and arrested a woman peddler in the same village on the same day, the statement said.
In another operation, personnel of Assam Rifles and Special Narcotics, CID ( Crime ) of state police in Aizawl seized 54 grams of heroin worth Rs. 37.8 lakh from the possession of a man and a woman peddlers during a joint operation at Aizawl‘s Mission Veng locality on Wednesday, it said.
All the accused and the seized heroin were handed over to the state police for further legal proceedings, the statement added.
