The Serchhip Battalion of Assam Rifles at the initiative of HQ 23 Sector Assam Rifles under the initiative of HQ IGAR (East) conducted an awareness lecture on Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana at Zokhawthar on Wednesday.
“The aim of the lecture was to raise awareness on Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana which was launched by the Govt of India in February 2019,” said a statement issued by the HQ IGAR (East).

During the lecture, the villagers were informed about the primary objective of the central scheme.
The villagers were told that the Yojana is to provide income support to all landholder/small farmers with cultivable land and a beneficial amount of Rs 6,000 per year will be credited to the account of the beneficiary under digital India in 3 instalments after every four months.

The offline and online procedure and required documents for applying to take the benefit of the scheme were also discussed.
Meanwhile, the locals expressed their gratitude for imparting knowledge of the scheme.
Farmers are all set to receive the 10th instalment under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) in the coming weeks.

Eligible farmers can easily check their names online to find out if they are on the beneficiary list of PM Kisan Yojana or not.
The central government is expected to roll out the funds as part of the 10th instalment under PM Kisan Yojana by December 25, according to media reports.
Notably, the central government rolled out the instalment last year at a similar time.
