The Serchhip Battalion of Assam Rifles organized a ‘Mega Tree Plantation Drive’ on the occasion of ‘Van Mohotsav Week’ at Serchhip district and all company operating bases in Mizoram.

The Van Mahotsav Week is being celebrated across India from July 1 to 7.

Assam Rifles jawans planted 7060 saplings during the massive drive.

The Van Mohotsav was celebrated with the aim of planting more trees to conserve the existing forests.

It was sought to create awareness about forest conservation and to promote the Union government’s initiative ‘Clean Earth, Green Earth’ amongst the troops and the public.
