No permission will be given to pick up passengers from Guwahati Airport or Guwahati Railway Station with effect from May 25 till June 10, said the Meghalaya government.
The state government has issued directives keeping in view of the regular flights starting from May 25, 2020 and Mail / Express / Rajdhani trains (other than Shramik Special trains arranged and paid for by the State Government) that have already started.
The notification, issued by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Meghalaya, said: “Individuals returning from other states to undergo the testing protocols prescribed by the Health and Family Welfare Department.”
The transport department will arrange buses to pick up all these persons from the Guwahati Airport and Guwahati Railway Station, it said.
“Post the online registration, confirmation of the itinerary may be done by calling the numbers 7005629354/8974254116/9863064839/9436103308/700552512 between 10 am to 8 pm,” the notification added..
Upon returning, citizens will be taken to Shillong or Tura for testing and kept in institutional quarantine for up to 48 hours till test results are known, it said.
After that pick-up arrangements may be made from Shillong and Tura, the government notification further said.
