Meghalaya governor Satya Pal Malik on Tuesday released a commemorative postal stamp during the 72nd Republic Day celebrations at the Raj Bhawan in Shillong.

The postal stamp depicts the historic Raj Bhawan of Meghalaya.

The governor unfurled the national flag and inspected the parade contingents in the presence of Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma during the Republic Day celebrations in Shillong.

“Alongside the Hon’ble Governor, Sh. Satya Pal Malik, released a commemorative postal stamp which is dedicated to the historic Raj Bhavan of Shillong as part of the #RepublicDay2021 celebration at Raj Bhavan, Shillong,” tweeted Conrad Sangma.

“Proudly hoisted the tricolour at my residence in honour of the 72nd #RepublicDay with our police personnel and team. Today marks the beginning of a people-first nation, a country for its people. I extend Republic Day greetings to everyone! Jai Hind!#RepublicDayIndia,” Sangma further tweeted.

The Meghalaya government also felicitated frontline workers who have been providing their valuable service during the Covid-19 pandemic on the occasion.
