“Last year was challenging for all due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic,” Governor Mukhi said in his speech.
“We have been successful in containing the pandemic after the necessary steps for the healthcare management taken by the government. Let us all stand united and work for each other to combat the pandemic,” Mukhi said.

Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal paid tribute to martyrs at Shradhanjali Kanan in Guwahati.
“Offered floral tributes to the martyrs, whose valour and sacrifice have laid the foundation of India,” Sonowal said in a tweet.
Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma unfurled the National Flag at the Nurul Amin Stadium at Nagaon on the occasion.
Sarma took the guard of honour and inspected the parade before hoisting the National Flag.
