Guwahati: During the ongoing Cherry Blossom Festival in Meghalaya, a person was allegedly killed after being hit by a police vehicle on Friday night.

According to reports, the incident took place on the Shillong Bypass near ICAR, Umiam.
The deceased was identified as Hudderfield Rymbui, a resident of Nongtalang, West Jaintia Hills in Meghalaya.

He was allegedly killed on the spot when a police vehicle hit his two-wheeler (ML05 AD 0566).
Rymbui was on the way to attend the Cherry Blossom Festival along with a woman.

The pillion also received injuries during the incident.
She claimed that they were hit by a police vehicle and then fled from the scene without checking on them.
