The budget session of the Meghalaya Assembly will begin from March 5 and will culminate on March 19.

The number days for the budget session was finalised by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly during its meeting chaired by the Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh on Monday.

The BAC meeting was also attended by Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong, and other MLAs including Congress’ Ampareen Lyngdoh and Balajied Kupar Synrem.

The Budget Session will have 11 working days out of which, 7 days have been allotted for Government Business and 4 days for Private Members’ Business.

Governor of Meghalaya Satya Pal Malik will deliver his address to the House on the first day of the session on March 5.

Chief Minister Conrad Sangma will present the budget estimates of the State for year 2021-2022 on March 10 after replying to the debate on Governor’s address.
