Four quarantine centres in Meghalaya have been set to cater to 400 patients.
The centres have been set up to take care in case there are suspected COVID-19 patients.
Deputy chief minister, Prestone Tynsong told reporters that two quarantine centres have been set up in Shillong, at Indian Institue of Management (IIM) Shillong, Nongthymmai and Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute (MATI) at Mawdiangdiang.

“A team of doctors and paramedical staffs will be available at these centres 24 hours,” he said adding that if need be, the government may set up similar centres in other districts and block level too depending on the situation.
The deputy chief minister informed that the government is also procuring more ventilators, 39 already procured, and another 24 are on their way.
Stating that there has not been a single case of COVID-19 detected in the state so far, Tynsong said that this is because people are adhering to the government advisories.
“Over 6,000 people have been screened in the state and all their biodata have been registered with the government and health department and keep a track of them and talking to them everyday,” he said.
Tynsong urged the people to calm down as this disease is very much curable and this has been declared by the World Health Organization (WHO).
“It is curable in the sense that you have to strictly follow the advisories,” he said.
