Meghalaya Information and Public Relations Minister AL Hek donated his one-month salary towards the Kerala Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund.
Hek handed over a cheque for Rs 2,04,000 to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at the latter’s office in the State Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram.

“It was well received by the Kerala Chief Minister who expressed his gratitude to Hek. He expressed hope that the already existing warm and cordial relations between the people from ‘God’s own Country’ and those from the ‘Abode of the Clouds’ will only grow stronger,” a government communique said here on Saturday.
Hek said he was happy to represent the people of Meghalaya by handing over a token amount of support towards the people of Kerala.

He said upon completion of the ongoing donation drive to the Meghalaya Chief Minister’s Flood Relief Fund, the same will be handed over to the Kerala Chief Minister.
“I am also very happy to visit the home state of a dear elder brother and former Meghalaya Governor, late MM Jacob who as the longest ever serving Governor in India, had served the people of Meghalaya for 12 long years,” the communique said quoting Hek.
The Minister was accompanied by Christopher Rani, the CEO of CR Projects, a Shillong based multi-faceted company. With a current annual turnover of Rs 45 Crore, CR Projects deals in trading and mining of metals & minerals, cultivation & trading of agro commodities, IT, shipping and transport services and events.
