Senior BJP leader from Tamil Nadu – La Ganesan has been appointed as the new Governor of Manipur.
La Ganesan’s name was cleared on Sunday by President Ram Nath Kovind for the post of Manipur Governor.

la Ganesan’s appointment comes just two days after former Manipur Governor Najma Heptulla retired from the position on August 20.
Ganesan who was previously a Rajya Sabha MP, had served BJP in several capacities.

La Ganesan had also served the RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) as a Pracharak.
A communique from the Rashtrapati Bhavan said Ganesan will be the new “Governor of Manipur with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office”.
Currently, Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad is discharging duties of Manipur Governor.
