The national general secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ram Madhav on Wednesday said that India has witnessed huge transformations under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
While speaking at the state convention of the Manipur unit of the BJP at Chandrakirti Auditorium, Palace Compound in Imphal, Madhav, who is also in charge of north-eastern states, claimed that Modi has been instrumental in creating a ‘non-corrupt India’ and his government has zero tolerance towards corruption.
The BJP leader also said that national security and national dignity has been achieved under Modi, according to reports.
“In a major change when terrorists from Pakistan came to the country and triggered bomb blasts killing innocents… now (we) have entered Pakistan and killed militants,” he added.
Madhav also said that there had been no communal violence and strikes during the rule of the BJP government.
He also added that India is one of the fastest growing economies of the world and is expected to be the world’s third largest by 2030.
He further added that the country has seen a faster economic growth rate of 7.2 per cent and China had a slower growth rate of 6 to 6.4 per cent.
Madhav said that the scheme of providing bank accounts to poor people was never witnessed before the tenure of Modi.
He also claimed that the BJP government has provided good facilities to the women of the country.
According to the BJP general secretary, the country would not be able to develop without Modi.
Attacking the opposition parties, Madhav said that the slogan for BJP this time will be ‘Phir ek Baar, Modi Sarkar’.
Praising the works of Manipur Chief Minister Biren Singh, Madhav said that the Centre listens to the people of the State.
Accordingly, the controversial Citizenship Bill was not tabled in the Rajya Sabha after protests broke out in the State, he said.
Madhav further said that the State was strategically placed and had a huge opportunity for growth as it served as a gateway to ASEAN countries.
