Imphal: Manipur Police arrested three suspected drug smugglers, including two women, during a raid in the southern part of the state on Wednesday.
According to a police report issued on Thursday, the seized heroin is estimated to have a grey market value of around Rs 10 lakh.
Acting on a tip-off regarding the movement of smuggled goods, a team of police officers intercepted a four-wheeler vehicle in the Nambol Maibam Chingmang area of Bishnupur district on Wednesday.

A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of illegal substances cleverly concealed within 13 soap cases.
The apprehended individuals have been identified as Rukshana Bibi (25), Rabina Begum alias Thambal (48), and Md Sabir Khan (30).

The report confirms the registration of a case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) Act 1985 against the accused.
The arrested suspects, along with the seized heroin and the impounded vehicle, have been handed over to the concerned police station for further investigation and legal proceedings.
