However, the recovered cases have surpassed the active cases.
The total number of COVID19 cases registered in Manipur includes 659 active cases, said official sources.
In the 24 hours, 40 persons, including 29 males and 11 females, have tested positive for COVID19.

While 7 positive cases were detected at the VRDL (Virus Research & Diagnosis Laboratory) of RIMS, 33 cases were detected at the VRDL of JNIMS, the spokesperson of state health department, Dr Kh Sasheekumar Mangang, said in a statement.
Of the positive cases, 1 has been reported from Churachandpur district, 1 from Imphal East, 5 from Jiribam, 2 from Kakching, 5 from Kakngpokpi and 26 cases have been reported from Senapatil district.
The infected patients will be shifted to the COVID Care Facilities, it added.
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 37 persons were discharged from COVID Care Centres of Meitram (23), Ukhrul(1), Isolation ward of District Hospital Thoubal (5) and COVID Care Facility of RIMS (1) after they were found COVID19 free on a Real Time PCR test, it added.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,430.
The number of active cases is 659 while 771 have recovered and discharged.
The recovery rate is 53.91 per cent.
As of Tuesday, a total of 2,95,221 persons have been screened at various entry points of the state while 57,769 others were tested for COVID19, according to a report compiled by the state surveillance officer of the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, Manipur.
Meanwhile, as part of the ongoing drive on violators of lockdown, not wearing face masks in public and not maintaining social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID19, the Manipur Police have detained 332 persons along with 278 vehicles.
The police department has collected a sum of Rs 48,950 as fines.
