On the day when the COVID19 tally in the state stands at 12,522, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said 447 more patients, who were earlier infected by the virus, were discharged from various hospitals across the state.
Sharing the good news, health minister Sarma in a tweet on Tuesday said: “Discharge Alert. 447 more patients have been discharged ~ 388 today, and 59 more on July 6. Gratitude to doctors & nurses!”
The COVID19 patients were discharged after they tested negative for the virus.
With the release of 447 patients, the total number of discharged cases in Assam has increased to 8,329.
Assam currently has 4,176 active COVID19 patients, who have been undergoing treatment in various hospitals across the state.

The COVID19 death toll in Assam increased to 15 on Tuesday as a positive patient from Koliabor in Nagaon district passed away due to infection.

The COVID19 positive patient has been identified as 40-year-old Dhadaram Mura from Koliabor in Nagaon district.
Health minister Sarma confirmed the news.
Sarma informed that the positive patient was admitted to a Covid ICU in Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) on July 1.
The patient was on invasive ventilation and was suffering from severe pneumonia and septic shock, he added.
