The COVID19 death toll in Assam has increased to 15 on Tuesday as a positive patient from Koliabor in Nagaon district passed away due to infection.
The news has been confirmed by Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Tuesday evening.
The COVID19 positive patient has been identified as 40-year-old Dhadaram Mura from Koliabor in Nagaon district.
The health minister informed that the positive patient was admitted to a Covid ICU in Gauhati Medical College Hospital (GMCH) on July 1.
He succumbed to the infection at 9 am on Tuesday.
Sarma said the patient was on invasive ventilation and was suffering from severe pneumonia and septic shock.

“Very sad to inform that another #COVID19 + patient Sri Dhadaram Mura (40) of Koliabor, Nagaon admitted in GMCH Covid ICU on July 1, succumbed to the infection today at 9 am,” health minister Sarma tweeted.
“He was on invasive ventilation; had severe pneumonia and septic shock. My condolences to Mura family,” Sarma added.
Assam has so far registered a total of 12,522 COVID19 positive cases including 4,622 active cases.
A total of 7,882 COVID19 patients have been discharged from various civil, district and model hospitals across Assam till date.
