Imphal: Central security forces and civil police in the joint search and anti-insurgency operations conducted on Monday discovered a temporary shelter camp set up by anti-social activists in Manipur’s Kakching district, adjoining Churachandpur, an official stated on Tuesday.
The raid led to the recovery of a substantial cache of warlike stores, including IEDs, firearms, and ammunition.

Security forces carried out the joint operation based on a specific intelligence input about the presence of anti-socials in the Wangoo Naral Samtak Hill areas under Wangoo police station of the Kakching District, adjoining Churachandpur district, Manipur.
“On seeing the approaching law enforcers, the suspected militants fled from the scene, leaving behind various types of arms, explosives, and ammunition, ” the official asserted.
The official added that in the follow-up actions, the security forces dismantled the structure used for illegal activities.

The operation, which lasted approximately three hours, unearthed one INSAS Rifle without a magazine, one DBBL, three SBBL guns, two high explosive grenades without a detonator, three 51 mm Mortar Bombs with cover, one IED weighing approximately. 5 kg (brown in colour), one IED weighing approx. 3 kg (brown in colour), one Battery (red in colour), 29 SLR Rifle ammunition, 27 INSAS Rifle ammunition, 10 AK Rifle ammunition, one INSAS LMG magazine, two 7.62 LMG magazines, and other miscellaneous items.
