Imphal: In a coordinated effort, the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and state forces seized a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives from an abandoned miscreants’ camp in Bongbal Khullen, Imphal East district, near the Kangpokpi district of Manipur.

Acting on specific intelligence regarding the presence of arms and ammunition in Bongbal Khullen village, the Indian Army launched the joint operation.

Despite the armed miscreants fleeing the scene, the operation resulted in the recovery of several sophisticated weapons and the dismantling of a bunker used by the miscreants.

The seized items included one AK-56 rifle, one mortar, one improvised mortar bomb, one Pompi gun, two improvised explosive devices, five hand grenades, various ammunition, and other war-like stores.

All recovered articles have been handed over to the Manipur police for further investigation and disposal.

The successful operation underscores the ongoing efforts of security forces to combat illegal arms proliferation and maintain peace in the region.
