Imphal: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has published Manipur’s draft electoral roll with 19,34,399 electors, recording a 92.42% participation rate in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. The window for filing claims and objections will remain open from July 5 to August 4.
The revision, conducted by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Manipur, covered 20,93,076 eligible electors, of whom 19,34,399 submitted enumeration forms between May 30 and June 28.
According to the draft roll, the electorate comprises 9,40,466 male voters, 9,93,660 female voters and 294 third-gender voters.
As part of the revision, election authorities deleted 43,000 deceased voters, 1,08,283 shifted electors and 7,394 duplicate registrations from the electoral roll.
The Election Commission said the number of Booth Level Agents (BLAs) increased to 6,363, with representatives from 10 recognised political parties participating in the revision process to enhance transparency.
The number of polling stations have also been increased from 2,956 to 3,041, with the aim of limiting each polling station to a maximum of 1,200 electors. Special arrangements have been made for internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Citizens who attained the age of 18 years on or before July 1, 2026, can apply for inclusion in the electoral roll by submitting Form 6 during the claims and objections period.
Election authorities said all claims and objections will be disposed of by September 2, and the final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on September 6.
