Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on Thursday visited the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences in Imphal to inspect the installation of a cryogenic tank and an oxygen plant at its premises.
The cryogenic tank can store 20 kl of liquid medical oxygen.

Singh said that the installation of the tank and the oxygen plant will help immensely in ensuring uninterrupted supply of oxygen to Covid-19 patients.
The chief minister also inspected the construction of a Dedicated Covid Hospital in Imphal.

The chief minister directed health officials to ensure that all Covid-19 patients admitted in different hospitals get the best of treatment.
The hospital is being established with assistance from the Defence Research Development Organization (DRDO).
The 200-bedded hospital will be quipped with 150 general beds and 50 beds for patients requiring intensive case.
