Imphal: A 30-member media delegation from Manipur left for Vietnam on Wednesday as part of an official overseas media tour sponsored by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), Government of Manipur.

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh flagged off the delegation at a ceremony held at Yumnam Leikai in Imphal West.

The delegation comprises 25 members of the All Manipur Working Journalistsโ€™ Union (AMWJU) and five DIPR officials. Secretary (IPR) Hungyo Worshang and other department officials are also part of the team.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the annual foreign media tour is aimed at strengthening public diplomacy, enhancing Manipurโ€™s visibility, and fostering engagement with international media organisations.

Interacting with the delegation before the departure, the Chief Minister conveyed his best wishes and urged members to make productive use of the visit.

Director (IPR) Ahanthem Subhash Singh, senior members of the Editors Guild Manipur (EGM), and AMWJU representatives were present at the flag-off ceremony.
