The Hung Yen Provincial Peoples’ Committee of Vietnam will be happy to work hand to hand for development in the state agricultural sector of Assam with appropriate technological support.

This was stated by Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee of Vietnam.

While welcoming the delegation team of the state headed by Agriculture Minister Atul Bora and 13 legislators and other department officials at the conference hall of the People’s Committee of the Province, Nguyen Van Phong, stated that India and Vietnam has a thousand years relationship.

He also said that both the countries have cultural similarity between the two countries.

Highlighting the agricultural scenario and model of agricultural extension, Phong stated that through proper banking facilities and market oriented production policy of the Government, Vietnamese farmers are able to increase their per capita income.

The farmers of the province are applying biotechnology in their field.

Party committee stressed on cluster approaches for specific crop and it showed good result, Phong added.

During the discussion period, Atul Bora said that he is fortunate enough to visit and study the agricultural sector of Vietnam.

He offered his thanks to the Secretary of Provincial Party Committee Phong for his valuable suggestions who has agricultural background.

Briefing about the agricultural background of Assam, Bora sought technological support especially in agricultural processing in and marketing in Assam.

Bora and the delegation team visited turmeric growing and processing zone at Khoai Chai District of the province.

The team was accompanied by P Harish, Indian Ambassador in Vietnam.

Earlier Bora with the team visited M/s Vineco Agriculture Investment Production and Development PLC at Vinh  Phuc, 100 km away from Hanoi.
