The total number COVID19 positive cases in Manipur has increased to 304 while the number of active cases is 243.
Additional director and spokesperson of the Manipur health department Dr Khoirom S Mangang on Tuesday said 10 persons, including 1 male and 9 females, were confirmed as COVID19 positive cases at VRDLs (Virus Research & Diagnosis Laboratory) of RIMS (Regional Institute of Medical Sciences) Sunday night.
Of the infected patients, one is from Kamjong and 9 others are from Noney district.
All are returnees. While 4 of the infected persons returned from Delhi, 4 others returned to the state from Kerala and one each returned from Bengaluru and Mumbai, the top health official said in a statement.
According to another statement of the health department, 22 persons including 9 males and 13 females were confirmed as COVID19 positive cases at the VRDL of JNIMS.
All of them are returnees from Delhi.
The authorities of the respective districts have taken up all necessary precautionary measures, it stated.
As per latest update on COVID19 status of state prepared by the surveillance officer of the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, around 18,612 samples have been tested for COVID19 in the state
A total of 2,58,385 persons have been screened at various screening centres set up at the entry points of Manipur.
A total of 20,995 persons, who returned home from other parts of the country are in quarantine centres across the state.
There are more than 770 quarantine centres across Manipur.
Meanwhile, a total of 15,846 persons have completed mandatory quarantine.
