On the day when COVID19 tally in Assam increased to 2,937, a total of 301 patients, who ere earlier infected by the virus, have been discharged from various hospitals in the state on Tuesday after their recovery.
With the newly-discharged patients, the total number of discharged COVID19 cases in Assam has risen to 1,085.
Sharing the good news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet at 8.27 on Tuesday said it’s a big relief for the state.
Terming it a “great work” by the doctors and other medical staff of the state, the health minister has lauded their efforts.
“Discharge Alert. In what’s a BIG day and HUGE relief glad to share that 301 of our friends who defeated #COVID are discharged today. Kudos to GREAT work by our doctors and medical staff,” health minister Sarma tweeted.
Assam has registered a total of 2,939 COVID19 positive cases so far, out of which 1,844 are active cases.
“Total Discharged Patients – 1085. Active Patients – 1844,” Sarma added.
In Assam, the deadly disease has claimed the lives of 5 persons while 3 cases migrated from the state.
With nearly 10,000 new cases reported in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID19 positive cases on Tuesday hit a new high, crossing the 2.66 lakh-mark.
The death toll in India has crossed the 7,400-mark.
