With 200 new recoveries from various COVID care facilities in the last 24 hours, the total number of recovered COVID-19 cases in Manipur reached 13,057 on Monday, official sources said.

The recovery rate is 74.93%.

In the last 24 hours, 255 persons from the general population and 7 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force were confirmed as new COVID-19 positive cases, the COVID-19 Common control room in Imphal said in a press release.

The new cases were confirmed at 24 testing facilities in the state.

The positive cases from were reported from Imphal West (119), Imphal East (47), Thoubal (10), Jiribam (2), Chandel (1),  Kangpokpi (1), Kamjong (8), Bishnupur (5), Senapati (1), Kakching (20), Tamenglong (6), Ukhrul (1) and Churachandpur (9), the release added.

Five from Imphal West are returnees while the rest are locals without any significant travel history, it said adding they are being shifted to the COVID care facilities.

All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place, it added.

Now the cumulative number of positive cases is 17,424 while the numbers of active cases are 4,223, it added.

In the last 24 hours, five persons succumbed to COVID-19 taking the overall tally to 144.
