New Delhi: Outer Manipur Congress MP Alfred Kanngam S Arthur delivered a scathing critique of the Modi government’s handling of the situation in Manipur.

He blamed the BJP-led NDA government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, of leaving the Northeast state of Manipur in ‘ruins’.

Arthur expressed deep concern over the escalating violence and the lack of effective intervention by both the central and Manipur governments.

“Every day, the words that come out from N Biren Singh’s (Manipur CM) mouth are that of beating, killing, and violence. What is this? Is this my country?” Arthur exclaimed.

The Manipur Congress MP highlighted the distress and turmoil faced by the people of Manipur.

Congress MP from Outer Manipur, Alfred Kanngam Arthur, also brought attention to the dire economic and environmental challenges facing Manipur.

Arthur’s speech focused on Manipur’s low per capita income, high inflation rates, and the recent unprecedented floods that have devastated the region.

“I have reviewed the budget. Manipur has the lowest per capita income and the highest inflation in the country,” Manipur Congress MP Alfred Kanngam Arthur said.

“How do you expect a state with the lowest income and the highest prices to survive,” the Manipur Congress MP stated

Arthur stated that Manipur is facing compounded difficulties, which is grappling with ongoing conflicts and the worst floods in 35 years.

“I am from the Naga community in Manipur. We have remained neutral in this conflict, both in letter and spirit, hoping that our neutrality would eventually lead to peace,” Arthur said.
