New Delhi: Assam Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi has raised concerns over the dilapidated condition of the national highway 37 in Assam.
Gaurav Gogoi raised these concerns during a meeting with union minister of road transport and highways, Nitin Gadkari, on Wednesday (July 24).
In a statement following their discussion, Gogoi highlighted the deteriorating condition of NH37, which has been a major concern for residents and travellers in Assam.
In the meeting, the Assam Congress MP said that there is an urgent need for improvements on NH 37, stating that the highway’s poor condition has severely impacted transportation and economic activities in the region.

He also addressed the persistent delays and complications surrounding the tender process for the highway’s crucial stretch from Jorhat to Jhanji and onward to Dibrugarh in Assam.
“The tender process for this section of NH 37 has been initiated and cancelled three times to date,” Gogoi said.
“I am sceptical whether the ongoing fourth round of the process will yield a positive outcome.”
