Manipur Rural Development and Panchayati Raj minister Thongam Bishwajit on Thursday said the state government is targeting to construct 9740 houses under Prime Minister’s Awaj Yojana Scheme in the Gram Panchayat areas of the state by March 31, 2018.
Minister Biswajit was replying to a question raised by Opposition congress MLA K Meghachandra Singh during the question hour of the ongoing winter session of the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly session.
The step was taken up under the Central government’s Housing for All Scheme, he said. The district-wise numbers of beneficiaries are 347 in Bishnupur, 972 in Chandel, 1819 inChurachandpur, 1332 in Imphal East, 423 in Imphal West, 1536 in Senapati, 1068 in Tamenglong, 1586 in Thoubal and 657 in Ukhrul.
Responding to another question by Kumbi MLA S Bira Singh, Minister Biswajt Singh informed the house that Sagang-Sugnu Road and Moirang Kumbi Road to Kumbi Thingel Leikai were executed under PMGSY Phase IX & X in Kumbi Assembly Constituency by Contractor/Agency namely, M/S N Jilla Singh & Sons and N Jugeshwar Singh.
The amount spent on Sagang-Sugnu Road and Moirang Kumbi Road to Kumbi Thingel Leikai were Rs 165.10 lakh and Rs 36.91 lakh respectively.
Whereas, the remaining balances are Rs 313.00 lakh and Rs 57.15 lakh, added the Minister. Target set for completion of the works is 31.07.2018 for Sangang-Sugnu Road and31.03.2018 for Moirang Kumbi Road to Kumbi Thingel Leikai.
Responding to another question by Opposition congress MLA Kh Joykishan, Deputy Chief Minister Yumnam Joykumar who holds finance portfolio said the packages announced by the Chief Minister N Biren Singh during his visits in hill districts of Ukhrul, Senapati, Kangpokpi, Chandel, Churachandpur and Tamenglong in the recent past are at various stages of implementation.
Projects which are completed or sanctioned or those for which funds have been provided or in the process of sanction. A total of 97 sanctioned orders have been issued, he said.
