Ahead of the State Assembly election due early next year, the Nagaland Government has declared Noklak sub-division under Tuensang district as a full-fledged district with immediate effect on Thursday night. With the upgradation from sub-vision, Noklak becomes the 12thdistrict of the State.
In a notification, Chief Secretary Pankaj Kumar said the Governor of Nagaland with the approval of the State Cabinet has upgraded Noklak sub-division into a full-fledged district with immediate effect. The jurisdiction of the new district will comprise the jurisdiction of Noklak sub-division under Tuensang district, the notification said.
On Wednesday, Chief Minister TR Zelaing inaugurated the newly upgraded office of the Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) Athibung under Peren District to Sub-Divisional Office.
