The Chief Executive Member (CEM) of Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) of Assam, Tuliram Ronghang on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding immediate implementation of Autonomous State.
Notably, Ronghang led a delegation of the KAAC under the stewardship of Assam finance minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The delegation submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding immediate implementation of Autonomous State under Article 244(A) of the Indian Constitution to Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao Districts.
Later, talking to the media, CEM KAAC Tuliram Ronghang said that he along with other members of the delegation appealed the Prime Minister that an official meeting should be called by the Central Government in every three months to discuss on the issue for immediate implementation of Autonomous State inviting members of both the autonomous councils.
Ronghang further shared with the media that after a thorough discussion, the Prime Minister had assured that if BJP comes to power again the ensuing Lok Sabha election 2019, it will extend cooperation in all possible matters to discuss on issues related to Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao Districts.
State finance minister Himanta also took to Twitter to disclose about the meeting. He in his official Twitter handle wrote:

The delegation also included Dr Mansing Rongpi, MLA, Ritesh Enghi, Deputy Speaker, EMs Horensing Bey, Mongol Sing Timung, Amarsing Tisso, MACs Darsing Ronghang, Richard Tokbi and Elwin Teron, OSD on MoS.
