The registration process will begin from January 2- 20.
The recruitment examination will be held from March 19-23.
The candidates wishing to be airmen will also have to pass a physical fitness test (PFT) and medical test.

The selected candidates will have to attend a Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) at the designated basic training institute.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) has invited online application from unmarried Indian citizens (citizens of Nepal are also eligible) for the selection test to join as Airmen in Group ‘X’ Trades (Except Education Instructor Trade) and Group ‘Y’ [Except Auto Tech, IAF(P), IAF(S) and Musician] Trades.
The selection test is not for selection as commissioned officers/ pilots/navigators.
The candidates will have to apply online and detailed instructions to fill up the same are available at www.airmenselection.cdac.in and the same would also be available on www.careerindianairforce.cdac.in
Age limitation: The candidate born between January 17, 2000 and December 30, 2003 (both days inclusive) are eligible to apply.
In case, a candidate clears all the stages of the selection procedure, then the upper age limit as on date of enrolment is 21 years.
Educational qualification: The applicants must have passed class 12 or equivalent with mathematics, physics and English with minimum 50 pc marks in English or passed a three-year diploma course in engineering to be eligible for Group X. For Group U those with a two-year vocational course can also apply.
For Group ‘Y’ Medical Assistant Trade, the applicant must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with physics, chemistry, biology and English with a minimum of 50% marks.
Diploma holders are eligible to appear for Group X trades only.
Mandatory medical standards:
For both Group ‘X’ (Except Education Instructor Trade) and Group ‘Y’ {Except Auto Tech, IAF(P), IAF(S) and Musician} Trades, the minimum height of the applicants must be 152.5 cms with chest – minimum range of expansion – 5 cm; weight – proportionate to height and age.
However, minimum weight of 55 kg is required for Operations Assistant (ATS) Trade only.
Permanent body tattoos shall not be permitted, however, tattoos only on inner face of the fore arms (inside of elbow to the wrist), back (dorsal) part of the hand/reverse side of palm and for tribal tattoos which are as per custom and traditions of their tribes may be considered.
However, right to decide on acceptability/unacceptability of the individual shall rest with the Selection Centre.
Only Sikh candidates, whose religion prohibits cutting of the hair or shaving of face, shall be permitted to grow hair and/or retain beard and moustache.
Candidates discharged from Indian Army/Indian Navy/any other government organisation are also eligible subject to their discharge with ‘no adverse entries’.
The online test will be objective type and questions will be in both English and Hindi (except English language section).
It will be a 60-minute ling test for Group X and 45 minutes for Group Y.
In Group X, candidates will be assessed on Mathematics, Physics, English as per CBSE class 12 syllabus.
In Group Y, questions will be on English (CBSE class 12 level) and reasoning and general awareness. Each question will be for one mark and for every wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted.
Candidates will get a stipend of Rs 14,600 per month during training and pay of Rs 33,100 for Group X and Rs 26,900 per month for Group Y as salary on completion of training.
Additional perks of Ration, Clothing, Medical facilities, accommodation, CSD (Canteen) facilities, transport, LTC etc will also be given. A group insurance cover of Rs 37.5 lakh at a premium of Rs 2,300 per month will also be given.
