Congress spokesperson and Kaliabor MP Gaurav Gogoi has been appointed AICC general secretary in-charge for West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar on Sunday. Gogoi has replaced Dr CP Joshi as AICC general secretary in-charge for West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar.
“Congress president Rahul Gandhi has appointed Mr Gaurav Gogoi as AICC in charge for West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar with immediate effect,” AICC general secretary Ashok Gehlot said in a statement.
The party appreciates the hard work and contribution of CP Joshi, who will be stepping down from his responsibility as AICC general secretary in-charge for West Bengal and Andaman and Nicobar.
West Bengal, where the Assembly elections is likely in 2021, will send 42 lawmakers to Parliament in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
