A student film festival Jonaki is being organized by the students of Communication and Journalism Department of Gauhati University (GU) on November 29-30
The festival will be held at PD Hall and AT Hall of GU and the theme is Inspiring the Roots.
Registrations for the festival are going on at the Communication and Journalism Department of Gauhati University.
For registering, one passport size photo and an identity card is needed.
Media education started for the first time in the Northeast at Gauhati University in 1967 under the charismatic leadership of Professor V Venkatrao and Professor Deba Prashad Baruah who played an pivotal role in setting up media education under the department of political science.
The media education centre emerged into a full-fledged department in the year 1983 with different courses in media and journalism.
