The final electoral roll of poll bound Tripura was published on Friday. It showed a growth of 2.52 per cent voters with the total number going up to 25, 69,216, a top official of the state election department said.

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Tripura Sriram Taranikant releasing the electoral roll at the state secretariat on Friday said, “We have a total of 25 lakh 69 thousand 216 voters which is a 2.52 percent increase. Number of added electorates are 92 thousand and deleted including shifting and dead voters is 32 thousand and net voters added is 63 thousand. 47 thousand voters are in the age group of 18 to 19 years.”

Of the total voters, 13,03,420 are male, while 12,65,785 are female and 11 are from the third gender.

During electoral rolls revision process, names of altogether 34,845 voters were deleted while as many as 63,219 names were included and among which 47,803 are new voters.

According to the latest statistics with 57,394 voters Badharghat scheduled caste constituency recorded highest number of voters while Korbook scheduled tribe constituency with 34,699 has recorded lowest number of voters.

Maximum increase of voters is registered in Barjala constituency with 4.26 per cent and the least in Banamalipur with 0.48 per cent.

The CEO also added that for the first time postal ballots will be distributed through electronic transfer this year.
