A team from the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday formally handed over the notification under Section 73 of the Representation of People Act 1951 (43 of 1951) duly notifying the name of members elected to the Sikkim Legislative Assembly after the completion of election process.

The ECI team led by secretary Arvind Anand along with other officials and accompanied by chief electoral officer of Sikkim Ravindra Telang called on Governor Ganga Prasad at Raj Bhavan and submitted the notification.
This was informed in an official press release.

It may be mentioned that under Section 15 of the Representation of Peoples Act 1951 (43 of 1951), the general election was held on April 11 for the purpose of constituting a new Legislative Assembly for the State of Sikkim.
The Governor congratulated the entire team of Election Commission and the officials involved in the conduct of election process in Sikkim for ensuring free, fair and peaceful election in the State.
