The sudden and untimely demise of digital media journalist Partha Saikia of Sivasagar district has cast a pall of gloom among the journalist fraternity. Saikia, who hailed from Jaluk Gaon in Sivasagar district, breathed his last at a private nursing home in Dibrugarh on Friday morning.

35-year old Saikia had been suffering from high blood pressure and was admitted at Sanjeevani Nursing Home in Dibrugarh on June 6.

Before his death Saikia was associated with newspapers including Niyamia Barta and Ami Asomor Janagan. He also worked for news portal Asom Sangbad.

He left behind his parents, wife and a six-year old daughter before his death.

Digital Media Journalists’ Association (DiMJAA) has condoled the death of the young scribe Partha Saikia. DiMJAA president Swapnil Bharali and general secretary Manas Roy expressed their deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family of late Saikia.
