Deccan Airline authority has initiated a fresh move to resume its service in these two routes.
Lately, a team of the private air carrier paid a visit to Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport to explore the market feasibility.
The report quoting Airport Authority of India officials revealed that Deccan Airline may resume its flight service in Agartala-Kolkata and Kolkata-Agartala routes, but a final decision is still pending.
The AAI officials were quoted as saying that it will be beneficial for the flyers of the State.
However, Go Air‘s plan has not made much progress though it was favourable for them to explore the possibilities of that route.
After Spicejet stopped continuing its service to both routes from September 1 last, flyers are finding it difficult to get air tickets with reasonable prices. Even if air fare is relatively less from Agartala to Kolkata, the return journey has become costlier.
According to latest fare chart, a ticket is priced at Rs 4000 plus for Agartala-Kolkata but it becomes much costlier for a flier from Kolkata to Agartala.
