Sikkim chief minister Pawan Chamling has asked all the doctors of the state to be extra serious in their work as they have a huge role in saving the lives.

Chamling made a series of visits to hospitals from the first day of January. He had visited the STNM hospital on January 1 and on Tuesday he visited the Manipal hospital.

The chief minister interacted with the patients. He also inquired about their health conditions.

During his visit the chief minister informed the patients about many schemes and programmes undertaken by the state government in the health sector so that the patients can avail of these opportunities for their treatment.

He also made it a point that more serious patients could be referred to hospitals outside the state and the entire expenditure for treatment would be borne by the state government.
