Director General of BSF K K Sharma on Sunday met Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy and State Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and briefed them about the BSF’s initiative to ensure tight vigil along the Indo-Bangla border.

The BSF DG also inspected few border out posts under Panisgar Sector Headquarters to take stock of the ground reality.
Sharma, who has been serving the BSF since 2016, also had a meeting with the Inspector General of BSF, Tripura Frontier, operational commanders of the frontier to review the security situation along the border.
In the meeting, the DG exhorted the BSF authority to focus on technology on border surveillance to suppliant the manpower.

He said that technical expertise in guarding border must be used to optimum level.
The DG also chaired a sainik sammellan with officers, subordinate officers and other rank and file BSF Tripura Frontier at Salbagan.
During his interaction with all the ranks, he laid focus on happy living and better health standards of BSF personnel and advised to include yoga with balanced diet in their day to day routine, to keep themselves equipped with high energy level, to discharge the ever demanding and border guarding duties.
