Guwahati: A team of police apprehended five suspected drug peddlers from the Hatigaon area in Guwahati, Assam on Tuesday night.

The suspects were apprehended based on specific inputs.
A police source said that the suspects were peddlers of the banned Yaba tablets.

Based on the input, the police raided the Central Guest House in Hatigaon and succeeded in seizing around 10,000 Yaba tablets and 11 grams of suspected heroin.
Along with the consignment, they also arrested five persons identified as Md Hasu Miya (45) from Sarthebari, Amina Khatun (40) from Bilasipara, Akmal Hussain (27) from Patharkandi, and Yehiya Ahmed (24) from Karimganj.

They also seized Rs 5000 in cash and four mobile phones from the suspects.
Further investigation regarding their involvement in the drug trade is being examined.
