News of booth capture allegations have come in from Arunachal West Lok Sabha constituency where simultaneous polls for Assembly and Lok Sabha elections were held on Thursday.
Allegations have been made against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters who have been accused of booth capturing at a polling station at Pating, a remote location in the Kurung Kumey district of Arunachal Pradesh, according to reports.
A video, reportedly, from Pating, alleged that the BJP supporters tried to stop villagers from casting their votes at the simultaneous Assembly and Lok Sabha polls.
Pating falls under 1-Arunachal West Lok Sabha constituency and 19-Nyapin Assembly constituency.
In the video where the citizens are seen to be involved in a heated argument leading to a scuffle that breaks out by the end of the video, one person present at the polling stations alleged that he was not allowed to enter the polling station as a polling agent despite having all the requisite documents.
“Only BJP party members are sitting as polling agents; even for the Congress party. Our voters are not being allowed to enter the polling station,” the person alleged.
