As the short-form video-sharing app TikTok’s ‘Skullbreaker challenge’ goes viral, the authorities warn the youth against attempting the challenge as it may cause injuries.
In the month of January this year, TikTok’s ‘Outlet Challenge’ also prompted safety warnings from fire departments.
That challenge asked the participants to plug their phone chargers partially into an electric socket before sliding a coin down the gap to cause sparks.
Now, the latest challenge by the name of ‘Skullbreaker’ has gone viral on the app.
As the name suggests, the challenge is dangerous and as per reports, this may even break the skulls of those who try it.
As the videos of who have attempted the challenge went viral, the Granada police have issued a statement saying that the game can cause serious injuries.
A report quoted Granada police as saying: “We would like to warn our followers so they share this message with the aim of avoiding such dangerous practices, that can cause serious injuries to children.”
Spanish police have also warned the youth against attempting the challenge after a video of a boy in Venezuela suffering grievous injuries had gone viral.
As per The Sun report, the boy ended up in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The boy’s school in a statement said they had initiated preventive and corrective measures against the students who participated in the challenge.
TikTok app reportedly has over 500 million active users.
The video-sharing social networking service, which makes headlines almost every day, has become the platform of choice for bizarre games that are potentially dangerous.
