Whether BJP top brass wants or not, Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) chief Hagrama Mohilary wants incumbent Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal to run the state for second term.
Well, BTC chief-executive-member Mohilary requested Union home minister Amit Shah to make Sonowal state’s next chief minister.
Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) chief Mohilary said this while speaking at the 4th conclave of the BJP led North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) which was held at the Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra here on Monday.
Union home minister Amit Shah and all the eight chief ministers of the northeastern states were present on the occasion.
“In our Bodoland, we have election in April 2020 for the BTC. We, the BPF, BJP and Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) are going to contest the polls and form the next government at the council,” Mohilary said in his unique style using a mixture of Hindi and Assamese, inviting loud applause from the audience.
“In 2021 Assam has election and BJP is going to come to power. Don’t worry sir. Sarbananda Sonowal will come to power again. Please don’t change him… make him the chief minister once again,” Mohilary said.
