Guwahati: The central government has allocated Rs 1000 crore for the welfare of the people belonging to the tea garden community in Assam.
Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his delight over the allocation of Rs 1000 crore in the union budget 2024 for the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Cha Shramik Protsahan Yojana.

This new scheme is set to provide extensive welfare opportunities for tea garden community in Assam, which plays a pivotal role in the state’s economy.
“I am delighted to learn that union budget 2024 has made a provision to implement the Pradhan Mantri Cha Shramik Protsahan Yojana,” said Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.
CM Sarma said: “With an allocation of Rs 1000 crore, this scheme will provide several welfare opportunities for Assam’s tea garden community.”
