New Delhi: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the pressing issues facing the state, particularly the ongoing flood crisis in the state.

Following the meeting, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma provided an update on the discussions, stating, “During our meeting, I briefed him on the flood situation in Assam”.

The Assam CM informed that he also apprised the PM “on the various efforts underway to mitigate the challenges faced by our people”.

“I also discussed the status of ongoing developmental works,” he said.

The floods have been wreaking havoc in several regions of Assam, displacing thousands and causing extensive damage.

Sarma highlighted the Assam’s response to the flood crisis, including rescue operations, relief measures, and long-term plans to prevent future flooding.

Furthermore, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for a historic third term.

“On behalf of the people of Assam, I once again extended our heartfelt congratulations as he embarks on a historic third term,” CM Sarma said.
