An amount of around Rs 6 crore was allegedly transferred to the accounts of Peter Mukerjea and his two sons from the bank account of Indrani Mukerjea, the prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case.

Former media baron Peter Mukerjea’s ex-wife Indrani Mukerjea revealed this before the court of special CBI judge JC Jagdale on Tuesday.

According to media reports, Indrani Mukerjea told the court that the money was transferred from her bank account immediately after her arrest in the Sheena Bora murder case.

Indrani Mukerjea made this claim while filing a rejoinder in response to the CBI’s objection to her bail, say reports.

She reportedly said, immediately after her arrest, around Rs 6 crore was transferred from her bank account to the accounts of Peter Mukerjea and his sons Rabin and Rahul.

The prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case claimed that she had been “framed” and there was a “big motive” behind her arrest.

Several text messages were exchanged between Sheena and Rahul on September 26, 27 and 28 in 2012, claimed Indrani Mukerjea while referring to the call data records (CDR) submitted by the CBI.

“It would be factually incorrect to say that Rahul Mukerjea did not meet Sheena Bora after April 24, 2012. It would be factually incorrect to say that Sheena Bora was not alive after April 24, 2012,” Indrani Mukerjea told the court.

The CBI had earlier told the court that there was no point in granting bail to Indrani on medical grounds as she had nobody in the family who would take care of her outside the jail.

Indrani is the prime accused in the murder of her daughter Sheena Bora, who was killed in April 2012.

Indrani Mukerjea, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and Indrani’s driver Shyamvar Rai were arrested.

Later Peter Mukerjea was also arrested for allegedly being part of the conspiracy.

Peter Mukerjea was later granted bail.

Sheena was allegedly killed by her mother Indrani with the help of others on April 24, 2012, and the body was burnt in a jungle in neighbouring Raigad district.
